Al Quds Center for Political Studies, in Cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Conducted an Introductory Training Program for Over 50 Young Men and Women from 17 Political Parties

Al Quds Center for Political Studies, in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, conducted an introductory training program for over 50 young men and women (aged 18-35) from 17 political parties and 11 governorates. The program spanned six days and was divided into three two-day workshops. Women constituted 33% of the total participants. The participants represented a diverse spectrum of sociological backgrounds, political affiliations, and ideological currents in Jordan. The first workshop focused on introducing foundational concepts related to civil rights and democracy. These concepts included the civil democratic state, citizenship, identity, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, the social contract, and constitutional culture. The training was conducted by Mrs. Eva Abu Halaweh and Dr. Ahmed Al Jarabi’.

The second workshop addressed the legal framework surrounding political and public activism. Special attention was given to topics such as the political parties law, the election law, the cybercrime law, the right to access information law, and the right to public assembly law. The training was led by Dr. Saddam Abu Azzam and Dr. Ahmad Al-Ajarmeh. The third workshop focused on the details of the standards of internal democracy within political parties. The participants could develop ten crucial criteria that enabled them to review the internal democracy of their respective parties and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, the participants offered suggestions and recommendations to their parties with the aim of enhancing their internal democratic systems and aligning them with international standards.
